When my mind is blocked, I post Quizzies!!

Air
Air. You think before you act, you look before you
leap. You are very direct, which sometimes can
hurt others. You are always looking for the
truth behind things. Of all the elements,
you're the wisest.

Weekender

Had been to T.Nagar with Magesh and Sekar for Diwali shopping. Got myself a kurta and a pair of jeans. When we came out of Chennai Silks, we ran into TV crew from SUN Network. A short comment from Kala about the current shopping trends was shot and was aired during the news telecast the same day evening. You could have seen Sridhar and me standing behind her and giggling! But, alas, Magesh and Sekar who convinced Kala to speak up, so that we could appear on the tv, were badly missed out of the frame.

Sunday was Sekar's parent's 25th wedding anniversary. He had invited the whole gang to his home. And the trio's popularity had grown overnight. Many of his neighbours came down and asked if we were the ones who appeared on the tv. With a nod and a smile we proceeded our way into his home.

It was a wonderful event that Sekar had organised. He threw up a surprise celebration for his parents. Mrs. and Mr. Jayaraman were truely surprised at their son's arrangements for their anniverary. Sekar's neighbors also joined us in the party. There was mimicry, there were advices for the children (that's for us!!), there were serious discussions (about future, responsibilities, marriage, love etc. etc..) Sekar had been absolutely quiet through out all these. It was Thennal who had been active pulling each others legs now and then. It was more than three hours of chatting and fun until we finished it off with a lunch at Saravana Bhavan. I enjoyed the Day!

And Arvind is coming to Chennai next Saturday. Eagerly looking forward to meet him after about six months..

Conversation

It confuses and at times it baffles me; Not only on a first person experience but where so ever. People have bucketful of advices and criticism for someone who tries to be (at least 'tries to be') good/better. Even Small mistakes such a person commits goes in for loud scrutiny of the people around, though he may be ready to admit and correct it. And these people are surprisingly blind towards those who are (really and terribly) wrong and do not care about it. Is it because their justice fails in such cases?
I do not advocate that criticism is wrong. But it should be worth it. It should not be an I-can-so-I-will kind of thing. It spoils what is good. And you would end up mocking yourself.

You will find the following funny!! Mind that this is a screenplay version of the true story!

(On phone) Me: Magesh, when are you coming home?
Mag: I am starting in another 15 mins.
Me: Fine, just wanted to know when you will be back. And I talked to her today.
Mag: To her..? Oh, to HER??
Me: Yup.
Mag: hey, what did you talk? When? How???
Me: come home and I'll tell you.
Mag: Tell me now.
Me: Come home soon. Bye!
(Cut the call)

Half an hour later, Magesh came home and then straight to me.
Mag: Tell me, you talked to Her?
Me: Her? No. Not exactly. It was Her, who talked to me.
Mag: Oh, really? What did she say?
Me: Long story da. I'll tell you later.
Mag: No, I want it now.
Me: Is it so urgent?
Me: Yes, you'll have to tell me now.
Me: Well, it was like this. You know I went to the office today skipping my breakfast.
Mag: mm.
Me: I was damn hungry by the time I reached office. So went for coffee soon. She crossed me just as I was entering the Cafeteria.
Mag: That was then did She talked to you?
Me: No. Listen fully. Then I came back to my cabin and was preparing for the meeting in the afternoon.
Mag: mm..(eagerly)
Me: It was lunch time by then. So I called up Eashwar. He was not in his seat. So Kala and myself went alone to the cafeteria. We occupied a table towards the center of the hall.
Mag: Then?
Me: Then She came into the hall with her friend.
Mag: (Full of grins) Then what happened?
ME: She was looking around silently, searching for something. She stopped when she glanced at our table. Some of Her friends were sitting in the adjacent table. She moved toward that table, kept her lunch box on that table and turned back.
Mag: She came towards you?
Me: Yes. She came towards me, hesitatingly.
Mag: (very curious by now) mm, then?
Me: She looked very hesitating. But I understood what she wanted to ask.
Mag: You did? What did She ask then??
Me: You'd be surprised Magesh.
Mag: Let it out.
Me: She asked me, in a faint voice,"Can I take this chair?" And I said,"Yes". That's it.

I do not want to tell you how enraged Mag was and he started bashing me up. I couldn't understand what's wrong in what I told him? Did you?
